🪑Onboarding for Brands

This article will outline the necessary steps to ensure successful onboarding of your brand’s data. You will learn how easy it is to upload product details, images, 2D vector drawings and attachments.

Canoa's Public Product Library

1. Identify your data

As a brand you already have marketing data that make up your price lists, variant data that make up your configurators on your websites and CAD data.

Our platform accepts:

• .csv

• .dxf & .dwg symbols

• Airtable

• API endpoint

2. Select your products

Depending on how accessible your data is, you may be ready to pull your entire catalog by connecting to your API endpoint or if you are creating a .csv from scratch you may want to select a smaller group of products to start.

Sample workflows:

• API endpoint - work with the Canoa team to push or pull your data directly from your website.

• Airtable - formatting and downloading for Canoa is a snap!

• JSON file - convert your JSON file to a CSV and map the fields to Canoa supported data fields and import into My Catalog/Table View

• PDF pricelists - This will be a more manual process. You may use CanoaGPT to help configure your .CSV

3. Appoint your Data Lead

Your Data Lead will work with Canoa’s Data Lead to prepare your data, upload your data and troubleshoot along the way.

4. Format your data

Our team has developed a set of formatting standards that ensures the designers utilizing your brand's products have everything they need to specify again and again.

This step can be the most time consuming if you are gathering unstructured data. Below are helpful articles, templates and videos to streamline this process and help you along the way.

5. Upload your data

You’ve already done the hard part of formatting your data. Importing into Canoa should now be a breeze. Every format noted above will need to be added into Catalog Pro for the first time; Airtable, API endpoint or .csv.

When uploading 100 or fewer products you may upload your CSV in the Canvas. If you are working with an even smaller number of products, Copy/Pasting URLs in the Canvas may be a great way to quickly add products. Then work in My Catalog Table View to enrich your data.

Clicking on the three dots will expose the Importing and Exporting features that work with CSV files.

6. Publish your data

• Take a look at your products in My Catalog to confirm your data is formatted clearly and consistent.

• Refer to our already published products for ‘formatting excellence’.

• Reach out to your Canoa Data Lead once everything is ready for publishing.

• Your data will be published to the Public Catalog within 24 hours.

7. Maintain your data

One of Canoa's superpowers is the ability to connect users to the most current and up-to-date product data. We made it easy to update your data utilizing Catalog Pro.

The Public Catalog is accessible in every users' Canvas.
