How to embed a Canvas

This article will teach you how to embed a Canvas in various third-party locations, like Notion, Squarespace, and Webflow, as another way to share your Canvas.

Being able to embed a Canvas outside of Canoa is a powerful way to utilize digital mood-boarding as a sales and marketing tool - or even just as a fun way to show off your latest inspo board with your friends. Just like there are multiple ways to share your Canvas, we also make it easy to embed Canvases on third-party apps.

Maybe you want to embed your Canvas on your own website in order to show off your latest thought-starter mood board, inspirations, or interior design project. Or maybe you are a Brand wanting to embed a Canvas that showcases your newest product launch with full product specifications on your own website. Embedding is a great way to share information in a visually pleasing way outside of Canoa.

Two ways to Embed a Canvas:

While in your Canvas:

  • Click on the Share button in the upper right hand corner.

  • At the bottom of the pop-up window, you'll see the Copy Embed button.

    • Clicking this will automatically copy an embed code to use in many outside tools, like Notion, Squarespace, and Webflow to name a few.

  • Pro Tip: If the Copy Embed button is not highlighted, make sure your Canvas in is Preview mode. If it is in No Access mode, Copy Embed will not be accessible.

Copying the Canvas's URL:

A second way to embed a Canvas into a third-party platform is by copying and pasting the Canvas's URL.

  • Pro Tip: take note of the view of your Canvas before copying the link. Position the Canvas exactly how you want the view of the embed to look on your own site. Then copy the URL.

    • This exact position is noted in the URL by the x, y, width, and height axises underlined below in red.

  • Your Canvas must be in Preview mode. If it is in No Access mode, embedding will not be possible.

    • Click on Share to toggle to Preview mode.
