# Working with Material Bank

### Step 1: Launch Material Bank

* Open a Board in **Material Bank.**
* Select the products and data fields you wish to bring into **Canoa** by selecting `Customize Export` .

### Step 2:  Export Data

* Select `Export`.
* Select `Download CSV file`&#x20;
* The CSV should be saved to your downloads or folder of choice.

### Optional\* Step 3: Open a spreadsheet program to format your data

* Open the exported CSV in Excel, GoogleSheets, Airtable or your preferred spreadsheet program to update fields to match Canoa’s format. &#x20;
* Refer to the [<mark style="color:purple;">**Product Data Template**</mark>](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jBbhwIQ2Jj5Z14_8MdPvxC8uDidg-GK8shcYdoMLFXs/edit?gid=245220932#gid=245220932) for approved fields and update before importing into Canoa.

### Step 4: Launch Canoa to import your product data

* Open a **Canvas** (shown below) or **Catalog Pro.**&#x20;
* Upload the CSV file into **Canvas** or **Catalog Pro**.
* Match the fields in the CSV from **Material Bank** with the Canoa provided fields. &#x20;

* Once imported, you will be prompted to add the product cards to **Canvas**. &#x20;
* The products will be automatically saved to your **Catalog** for use time and time again.

## How to use your newly collected products in Canvas:

* Add additional product information, images and 2D drawings by `right-clicking` and choosing `View Product Details`.&#x20;
* Search for similar and complementary products with the AI Recommendations icon in the bottom left corner of your **Canvas**.

* Toggle between the product card view and image view when the product is selected.
* Use all of Canoa’s design tools to start creating your mood board, layout, or presentation.
